Fatumas Voice

Image
#FatumasVoice is a figurative gesture for a platform whereby young people meet to talk about the evils happening in the society and how they could solve them, their hopes for the future, their life experiences as well as networking hence expanding their social circles. We do this through poetry, live music, motivational talks, and open forum discussions where people air their views on a certain chosen topic of the day. Our purpose for holding this event is to encourage young people like us to know how to express themselves, earn their self-esteem, improve their talents, be responsible citizens and to make them understand the value of networking. We realized that young people do not really get the truth about life in their homes, nor in the churches or mosques, nor in politics or their social quotas nor in themselves. Before I Sleep

I take a pen and paper, Write up a conclusion of my thoughts, Hoping to scare off nightmares, Put them on paper save for another day, Say goodbye to this day, And prepare myself for the next day, Before I sleep, I know it is like journey I am going to take, Passing through the night while asleep, Seeing the world in my dreams, Stopping at the sweetest dreams, And when I awake I will have reached my destination, A better place it will be, At dawn that be my destiny, A new day to not only start a new, But to keep on moving thorough this life, For now before I sleep, I have to say a prayer to my Heavenly Father, Pray for his might protection, Give Him thanks for the preservation, For the day that comes to pass, For the family in this life and the friends that I have, I pray to my Creator my Maker, Who watches over me when I sleep, Who gives me a goodnight kiss Because I am one of his Child and he inspires me, Reinvents me and gives me new might Amen to that and now I can turn off the ligh

The night was full of noises, The music behind her back, The melody so sweet to be ignored, Yet she chose to stare at the sky, Looking at the beautiful night stars, And at the moon behind the forming clouds, She seemed attracted more to that silent order, than the happenings behind her back, And the night was growing colder, Then her eyes gazed at the trees, I followed As the wind bend down the trees, She quietly embraced the peace,  I made steps
